I’ve discovered the analog printing word in my early twenties, as I tried linocut engraving for the first time. Since then I have been fascinated by the various methods available, and I love exploring them in my work. I also like the different technical challenge they present, forcing me to think about my designs differently.

Mouvement #1– linocut print
Mouvement #2 — linocut print + crayon
This Mouvement series is from my early exploration of linocut prints. The Mouvement #1 holds a special place for me and I therefore re-used several years later for one of my first screenprint, titled Orenda.
Mouvement with tattoos — linocut print (private commission)
Flowers & Skulls — 2-colour linocut print on green paper
Alex Turner with tambourine — 2-colour linocut print
The below prints are all based on movies, which are a great source of inspiration to me.
Mr. Darcy — linocut print + stamp (Pride and Prejudice, Joe Wright)
Frank — 2-colour linocut print + stamp (Donnie Darko, Richard Kelly)
Poe Dameron — linocut print + stamp (The Force Awakens, J. J. Abrams)
The admiration for the dedication to art and craftsmanship is a recurring theme in the movies from Hayao Miyazaki and the Ghibli studios, which sparked me to start a linocut print series for those movies. I have chosen to focus on the main characters, and to use this series as a way to play on the formats and composition, since I am otherwise just copying panels from the films themselves.
